According to the Public Relations of the Soil Conservation and Watershed Management Research Institute and quoting the Water Management Research Institute of Mohaghegh Ardabili University, a specialized meeting related to industry entitled "Monitoring Wet and Parallel Watersheds: Management Models and Upcoming Research Opportunities" was attended by more than 200 people. Professors, administrators, researchers and students, in collaboration with the Research Institute of Water Management of Mohaghegh Ardabili University, the Research Institute of Soil Conservation and Watershed Management and the Scientific Association of Range and Watershed Management of Mohaghegh Ardabili University was held on Monday, January 28, 2010. In the continuation of the meeting, some things were said about the representative and pair watersheds of the country and the characteristics of each of them. In this regard, the successes and failures in the implementation and their relationship with these watersheds and their impact on knowledge production and evaluation of watershed management operations using the latest technologies in the country were also mentioned. The director of one of the national projects related to the pair watersheds, while giving an overview of the appearance of the country's representative and pair watersheds, presented a comprehensive report on the initial evaluations carried out so far to the audience. These initial assessments address issues such as the achieved goals of establishing representative and pair watersheds of the country, current trends, quantitative and qualitative characteristics of recorded indicators, techniques used to measure indicators, data capacity extracted in knowledge production and decision-making and effectiveness of soil conservation and watershed management operations.
